And yet mortal existence is continually asking us to allow our
thought to dwell on error and dwelling on error we lose the sense of
love and peace as being the seat of power.
We can afford to
have only one sense of seat — the uninvaded stillness of Mind. As
long as we allow thought to dwell on error we lose the correct sense of
what that seat involves.
You KNOW that error does not have a seat at God's table !
"Thou shalt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee."
"Where shall the gaze rest but in the unsearchable realm of Mind."
Engineers know that pistons and valves do not work properly until they
are well seated in the engine block. The same is true of the mechanisms
of thought. Unless they find their seat in love, joy, serenity and
harmony they malfunction.
Part of that seating is to never allow thought to dwell on error. Interesting word Dwell
– origin Old English dwellan ‘lead astray, hinder, delay’ (in Middle
English ‘tarry, remain in a place’), of Germanic origin; related to
Middle Dutch dwellen ‘stun, perplex’ and Old Norse dvelja ‘delay, tarry,
stay’.
Jesus always got himself set before he started work. He
took on board the truth that love and ever present perfection were the
only seat of power .
And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
Matt 5:1
