Faith, Hope and Love

By Ken G. Cooper

God of glory give me FAITH,

Grounded in Thy perfect Love.

Let each day in wisdom grow,

Each thought stemming from above.

God of glory give me HOPE,

See Thy promises fulfilled;

Open now my eyes to see

Thy pure Love in me instilled.

God of glory give me LOVE,

Permeating through and through.

Leave no part of me untouched,

LET ME BE THE LOVE THAT’S YOU!

God Is Our Freedom

 Ken G. Cooper

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”  John 8: 32

The promise of our Master was really very clear,

Its message was to all of us, follow without fear,

He said “If ye continue”, - and that means every day:

To be his true disciple, his Word you must obey.

What is this truth that we shall know and which maketh free?

It is this fact: God made man, that He made you, made me!

Behold the beauty of this Truth, it isn’t something strange:

Despite false evidence we see, Truth will never change!

So, with eternal Principle, Truth remains the same,

Man is God’s creation in both nature and in name.

Jesus healed his thousands, and he never made them wait,

No need for convalescence, no need for empty plate!

He knew God’s work was finished, he could expect no less,

It was merely false belief that thought the world a mess!

Should we believe in error, succumb to matter’s threat?

NO! Turn to God, and know for sure He’s the only bet!

Our Master showed to all the Love God has for man,

All fear is simply blown away: Spirit is Truth’s fan!

Spirit’s breath is Life itself: this truth it maketh free:

With open eyes and Truth at hand, in freedom you will be!

John 8:31,32

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

   Ecclesiastes 3:14 (to:)

I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it:

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an  expected end.

The Woman of Samaria

By Ken C. Cooper

 John 4:5-42

For many years, engrained as true,

Avoid all dealings with the Jew!

Their way of life does not belong

To how we live. It’s simply wrong.

The feeling mutual. It’s well known:

Though side by side we keep alone!

Imagine then my great surprise

When this Jew looks into my eyes!

Give me to drink his simple ask;

But why should I perform this task!

Perhaps he does not understand

The social mores of this land.

I take a risk and answer back, -

His clear response reveals my lack!

His living water I should seek, -

It’s only found through being meek.

Yes, I’ve been thirsting all these years:

He’s offering Life with no more tears!

He reads my mind with healing thought,

No condemnation from him wrought.

My past revealed and laid quite bare, -

That he’s a prophet is quite clear.

I sense great Love, he speaks with me:

I feel at one, feel harmony.

He speaks of God and worship true,

A spiritual start to all we do.

God not confined to single place,

Embracing all as face to face.

I ask him straight: “Are you The One?”

Yes, I’m God’s true anointed Son.”

Touched by the Christ I’m now reborn.

New freedom with my past forlorn!

I leave the waterpot* behind,

Run to my home, - my friends to find!

I tell them all about this man:

My heart full-singing now it can!!

Many believe from all I say,

They searched out Jesus straightaway.

Two happy days he stayed and taught

Illuminating heart and thought!

The living water just o’erflows:

In Christ the flood of Life just glows!

* prejudice, the old way of life, mortal thirst and expectation.

Treatment Ideas for January 4, 2021

By Julio C. Rivas, CS

Sacramental Loving and Living

““In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people. And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us.” — 2 Corinthians‬ ‭8:2-5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“The rich in spirit help the poor in one grand brotherhood, all having the same Principle, or Father; and blessed is that man who seeth his brother's need and supplieth it, seeking his own in another's good.” — M B Eddy

“The young mother of small children had been abused and abandoned. She was unemployed, and barely surviving what seemed like one destructive life-hurricane after another. As I was praying for Love’s intelligent answers, I communicated her dire situation to a fellow Christian Science practitioner, who, in turn, did the same with other practitioner friends. Within a few days we were a team of Christly doers, praying and acting on Love’s sacramental generosity. After a few weeks we had helped her get a new start in a new city. She was now employed, in a safe neighborhood, and with plenty of opportunities for her children. We gave of our Love-wealth. And she went on to do the same in her new community. Love’s sacrament to us makes it possible for us to emit proliferating grace toward everyone.”
