A Prayer For The Week (June 24 - 30, 2019)

Dear Father-Mother God,

I feel a deep, inner joy when I think of You.

You have heard my prayers and songs of praise.

Thank You for Your Christ

who shows me the way of heavenly living.

Thank You for placing Your new covenant in my heart.

I love living in accord with Your law.

Thank You for Your promised Comforter, divine Science.

What a joy to have daily available the same healing presence

with which Jesus met his everyday problems.

Thank You for Your healing Truth.

My consciousness touches the hem of Christ's robe.

Living by littles, I bring Your truths into active practice.

And thank You God, for helping me to live the life

that approaches the supreme good.

And so it is, Amen.

There is only one star in our solar system

Things would have been pretty chaotic if there were more than one, but the symbolism of that one star is fundamental to good metaphysics because what it is essentially saying is that there is only one fundamental driving life , the fundamental of perfect oneness without any other essence or influence around.

It is spiritually very liberating to realise that there is only one guiding light in our lives because then we realise that we don’t have to be concerned about other influences and orbits. In divine Science there is only the one guiding light , there is no other and sensing the hegemony of the unique star and shining light we are not then distracted by illusory counterfeits.

God has stuck one sun in the sky to symbolize just this point and we might as well learn the lesson and drop the idea that there are other guiding lights.

Error and mortal mind would have it that darkness and evil (black holes) have some role to play in experience but these things have never succeeded in dragging things in our universe out of their orbit because the immensity and power of the sun dwarfs their efforts. So it is with spiritual life. Love , purity and everlasting life shine brightly to the dispersal of any shadows and doubts to the contrary.

And just in case you forget the lesson , the sun will come up every morning to remind you. And Mary Baker Eddy's words will do the same:

Science reveals only one Mind, and this one shining by its own light and governing the universe, including man, in perfect harmony.
(SH 510:28-1)

The willingness to be human
Not towering over all
As the bright and shining light
But to be shadow
Wisp
Memory
To brave it all
In doing so
In God’s will

The leaving body behind
Willing to ascend or descend
To retrieve every lost soul
Every sheep to his shoulder

So his tears at Lazarus’ tomb
So the tears at Gethsemane
So the tears for all humanity
So for himself as well.

Behind Him
As he faced God
His royal father
His governing mother
Leaving the world
Loving
From the cross
Explaing our own pain away
By his own experience
Our own
Our loss -- his
Our grief -- his
Our pain -- his
Our life -- his
Our union --- one
At last.

A Prayer For This Week (June 17 - 23)

By Prayerful Living

Your tabernacle, God, is a place of understanding.

The sanctuary in which You dwell is a state of mind where

I sacrifice my sense of self on the altar of Spirit.

I know that You, God, are the sole creator of the universe.

I work to discern the invisible things of Your creation.

I have faith in you, Spirit. Yours is the only true substance.

Understanding your omnipotence, I am not afraid.

Awaken and uplift my consciousness, God.

Help me to not accept the outward appearance of things,

resolving things into thoughts.

With You, I rise above physical theories knowing that You, Spirit,

are reflected in the true, spiritual things of Mind, Life, Truth and Love.

Through Your healing Christ, I relinquish the material

revealing Your new heaven and new earth now.

Thank you, divine Spirit.

And so it is, Amen.

A Prayer For This Week (June 10 - 16, 2019)

Dear Father-Mother God, consciously I reside in You.

Like a shepherd, You keep me from harm, and guide me.

You are my refuge, my hiding place when trouble comes.

Omnipotent God, divine Life, You fill all space.

Your love surrounds me, I feel so safe in Your embrace.

No storm do I fear, for I know You, God, are right here.

And Your angels too, present in my consciousness,

Your messengers of comfort and goodness, illuminate my path.

I am not afraid, for I know You, God, lovingly govern all that is real.

Evil is not part of Your reality and cannot be part of mine.

Gratefully I know that I abide in Your truth, divine Love.

And so it is, Amen.

A Prayer For This Week (June 3 - 9, 2019)

You are God alone, You are great and do wonderful things.

God, divine Mind, I know You are the only creator, the only cause.

You have made me and give me purpose.

You give me meaning, worth and identity, the only effect I can reflect.

All substance, intelligence, wisdom belong to You, God.     

You are creative Principle. You sustain and govern me.

I see the truth of Your creation through Christ, the light of the world,

“the true idea voicing good.”

You, Spirit, are my pure and perfect source.

I am born again through the knowledge of Your spiritual truth.

Each day I witness Your beautiful creation, God.

I rejoice that I am subject to Your divine power as Your child.

And so it is, Amen.

God the Only Cause and Creator

Infinity is not about time.
It has no start or ending.
Our present good is the wondrous now
Of God and His reflecting!

One God is all that ever can be,
Eternal now His power,
And creation-glory mirrors forth
From man and rock and flower.

Right now is man’s dominion sure,
Right now I am God’s treasure.
